Irrigation in agriculture
Summary
Need based automated irrigation
Smart irrigation systems consist of LoRaWAN soil moisture sensors, and valve actuators. LoRaWAN is particularly suited to agricultural use cases, where network coverage is rare. A single gateway can cover a wide area of sensors, and since hardware is expensive, it is easy to scale the solution. Smart irrigation involves measuring soil moisture, and activating LoRaWAN solenoid controlled irrigation only when it is needed, for closed loop, intelligent consumption.
